About Myself

Give me the site with way too much content! The faceting, tagging, search interfaces, and all of those registration forms! I can make intuitive UI out of the technological might of those web systems. It's what I do well, and I really enjoy doing it.

I'm a big fan of Content First design and front-end development, user-friendliness on the front and CMS' backend, and I love simplifying overcomplicated interfaces.

I'm also pretty good at those mini-sites for that new mojito beverage, but I'll be secretly fantasizing about how to make a better registration form while I'm doing it.

I taught web design & professional practice classes at CCAD for a few years, and continue to take the opportunity to mentor or present when I can.

I specialize in:

  • Front-End Development
  • Web/Interactive Design & Front-End Development
  • Information Architecture & blueprinting for WCMs

Don't just take my word for it

  • Eric Myers

Head of eCommerce Operations at Restaurant Equippers

His solutions to complex design problems are elegant and often ingenious. He has really embraced user-centered design in a way that still allows him to express his own style in a very user-supportive manner.

  • Andrew Porter

    Art Director at Resource Interactive

Wes Ruvalcaba's presence inspires better design. He pushes the project forward with his detail orientated knowledge on all fronts: design, development, color theory, user interface etc. His opinion is invaluable to those he has worked with and his work extraordinary.

  • James Jeansonne

Director of Sales & Marketing at Gannett

Wes' creativity, ability to find new solutions, and teamwork make him an ideal person to have on your team.

  • Chris Peters

    Web Developer Liquifusion Studios

Wes is the most talented web designer that I've had the opportunity to work with. It's great to finally work with someone that has such great visual skills and a desire to produce something that's usable.
